The Philippine 2026 calendar is unusually rich in long weekends because several major holidays fall close to weekends. With smart planning, a handful of leave days can stretch into multi-week breaks. Here are the key opportunities to file early at work.
Holy Week (April 2–5, 2026). Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are regular holidays, Black Saturday is a special non-working day, and Easter Sunday rounds out a 4-day break automatically. Filing leave on April 6 and 7 extends this to a 6-day stretch covering Araw ng Kagitingan on April 9. This is the single biggest travel window of the year — book flights to Palawan, Siargao, or Bohol at least 3 months in advance.
Christmas to New Year (December 24, 2026 – January 1, 2027). Christmas Eve (special), Christmas Day (regular), Rizal Day on December 30 (regular), and the Last Day of the Year (special) form a near-continuous break.
